THE OUTLAW BLUES BAND
“THE OUTLAW BLUES BAND AND THE PEOPLE”
Hey, Mom! It’s High, But…You’ll Dig It.
The happening is gone –and with it part of the Establishment rules. It is a revolution in our advanced and changing society.
The Pop and Op art are gone, too! The rock music and its 4/4 tempo is still rocking in its chair, not as a lady but as a wench that shook up the historical path of music.
The incongruity of rock and jazz tempos are the inconceivable impulses that give genesis and life to the “OBB” sound.
“OBB” is the new-born American sound that came alive through the Outlaw Blues Band as a promise –wisdom to quiz our musical environment.
From the Outlaw Blues Band
While others are still in the same bag playing the old 4/4 rock tempo and searching out in the dream of light for new arrangements, we create the Death Dog of Doom in 6/8 tempo with the intention of being progressive and meeting the demands of our out of sight listeners. We do not expect to lead American music –though ours is American- but to challenge old harmonies and become part of this unpredictable and highly experimental culture.
The recipe of the “OBB” sound is the far-out locomotive rhythm of the lead guitarist; the percussion coming out from the depths to unveil the secrets and the soul of the electric ax, the drum-timbale combination; the strong bass that is always there, the horn that swings in the spectrum from rock to Coltrane and beyond; and the romantic touches of the steel marimba (vibraharp) and the mystic flute waves. The sound is sex, carnival, naked and pure.
